Reservations

What is your inclement weather cancellation policy?

For stays from June 1 - November 30: In the event a hurricane threat interferes with your vacation plans in Miami Beach, a refund for any unused nights (if applicable) will be provided. We also levy no penalties on early departures.

You may elect to cancel your stay with no penalty (and receive a full refund if applicable) if The National Hurricane Center puts South Florida under a Hurricane Watch or Warning and/or a state of emergency is declared.


Tropical Storm Watch or Warning: We do not levy any penalties on early departures, however our regular cancellation policy applies.

Pre-arrival Cancellations: If you choose to cancel your reservation due to Hurricane conditions (based on terms and conditions outlined above), you will be fully refunded with no cancellation penalties.

In-House Guests Departing Early: If you choose to depart early, and prepaid your stay with us, you will be credited for any unused nights.

Missed Flights and/or Delayed Arrivals: If hurricane conditions cause you to miss a flight, and/or otherwise cause you to arrive one or more days late, you will receive a full refund for any such days. Alternately you may have the option of extending your vacation, based on availability. Airline ticket holders are subject to the airlines’ policies and guidelines.

Evacuation Orders: In the event of a mandatory evacuation order, you will receive a full refund of any unused nights.

Post-Hurricane Damage: In the unlikely event that the hotel is damaged by a hurricane and is temporarily uninhabitable while repairs are being performed, you will receive a full refund.

Please note that The Palms Hotel & Spa works with online booking providers and Travel Agencies in addition to offering bookings directly through the website www.thepalmshotel.com or our Reservations office.

If your reservation was made through an online booking provider, or your Travel Agent, please contact them to initiate changes or cancellation of your booking.

What time is check-in and check-out?

Check-in: 4:00 PM Check-out: 11:00 AM
A later check-out time might be granted by the Front Desk on your departure day. It is based upon availability and a nominal fee might apply. Video Checkout and Express Checkout available. Minimum age for check-in is 21 years old.

What is your guarantee/deposit policy?

For reservations made directly with the hotel all reservations must be guaranteed with a valid credit card. A deposit may be required depending on the rate and dates of your reservation. For peak dates or reservations made within 3 days of check-in are subject to the first night’s room rate plus tax and is charged as a deposit at the time of booking. This deposit will be applied towards your total stay. Please note that special rates, packages, or peak season reservations might have different deposit requirements. For specific details, refer to your booking confirmation or contact the hotel directly.

What is your cancellation policy?

Our cancellation and deposit policy varies by rate. Please refer to your confirmation email for the applicable policy or reach out to reservations at 305.908.5479 or reservations@thepalmshotel.com.

When you book direct reservations can be cancelled for free until 4 PM (local time), up to 3 days prior to arrival. A first night's room and tax deposit will be retained in the event of a no show or late cancellation. All reservations must be guaranteed with a valid credit card. There is no deposit due at time of booking. Excludes peak dates. 

For all contracted Social or Corporate Group room block reservations, please contact your Sales Manager for the cancellation policy.

What is the hotel fee?

Room rates quoted do not include our hotel fee of $38 per room per night (inclusive of tax).

What credit card may I use to reserve my room?

A valid credit card must be presented upon check-in. Credit cards provided at check-in time are required to be EMV enable (chipped). Any credit card that is not equipped with a chip will not be accepted. An amount equal to room/ tax (unless prepaid) plus estimated incidentals for the entire stay will be authorized upon check-in. We do not accept cash deposits. Please contact the hotel directly to inquire about details.

What are the Free Rewards for booking direct?

The free rewards for booking direct include discounts on local sightseeing tours, gift cards, restaurant gift cards, and more. They are not part of the hotel and fulfilled by LaaSie a 3rd party company. You can view their FAQ here. The Free Rewards program applies only to reservations made on The Palms Hotel & Spa's Website.

Can I prepay for my reservation prior to arrival? May I pay for someone else's reservation?

Yes. Please contact the reservations team directly at 305-908-5479 during business hours of 9 AM - 5:30 PM EST Monday through Friday or email reservations@thepalmshotel.com, Please provide the name and stay dates associated with the reservation. We do not accept cash deposits. Pre-payments may only be accepted within 3 days of check-in date.

What is the child policy at the hotel?

Children 12 years old and younger stay free when occupying the parent/guardian’s room, using existing bedding.
Essensia Restaurant features a kids menu for children 12 years old and under.

What are the local tax fees?

A 14% tax will be added to your nightly room rate and hotel fee. This includes a 7% Florida Sales Tax, 3% City of Miami Beach Taxes, and 4% for Miami Dade County. There is a 9% tax added to all Food and Beverage sales, which includes the 7% Florida Sales Tax and a 2% City of Miami Beach Tax. Retail sales will have a 7% Florida Sales tax added.

I booked on a website other than the hotel website and need to change my reservation. How do I do this?

If you booked your reservation through a third-party website, you will need to contact them directly to make any changes to your booking. They will be able to assist you with modifying your reservation according to their policies. If you encounter any issues or need further assistance, please feel free to contact us, and we'll do our best to help

What is the minimum age for check-in?

The minimum age for check-in is 21 years old.

I need a copy of my bill/folio? I have questions regarding my bill, who should I contact?

General

Do you allow smoking on property? In the rooms?

The Palms Hotel & Spa is a smoke-free property. For the comfort and health of all our guests, smoking is not permitted anywhere on the premises, including in the guestrooms.

Do you allow photography and videography?

Professional photography and videography are not permitted in public spaces or outlets. However, for event spaces or guest rooms that have been booked, photography and videography is permitted.

Can I send a package to the hotel?

Yes, we are pleased to accept packages for our guests. There will be an additional package handling fee of $7 per package, applied to your final bill. Please be sure to have the sender include the name of the registered guest.

Can I send mail or ship a package from the hotel?

Yes, outgoing mail can be dropped off at the Front Desk. Stamps can be purchased at the Gift Shop. UPS/FedEx outgoing parcels must be arranged by guest for courier pickup, the Hotel is not responsible for associated service fees. Please contact our Concierge for additional assistance.

Does your hotel have air conditioning?

Yes, all guest rooms and public spaces have both central air conditioning and heating.

Do you offer luggage storage?

Yes, storage and handling services are available for your convenience as well as a luggage scale.

Amenities

Can I order a welcome amenity or gift to a guest room before arrival?

Yes. We offer thoughtful food and beverage amenities that can be delivered to our guest rooms. Complete the amenity request form and a member of our Guest Services team will confirm your request and coordinate delivery. Please be advised that all amenities require at least a 48-hour advanced notice.

Do you offer breakfast? Is it included in the room rate?

Yes, Essensia Restaurant offers a daily breakfast buffet as well as an à la carte menu of delicious breakfast staples. Guests can enjoy a variety of fresh fruits, pastries, and baked goods, along with an assortment of cereals and yogurts. The buffet also features a selection of hot items, including eggs, bacon, sausages, and made-to-order omelets. For those seeking a lighter option, there are plenty of healthy choices such as smoothies, oatmeal, and a variety of fresh juices. A kids menu is also available. Breakfast is served every day from 7 AM - 11 AM. Breakfast is not included in most of the room rates. You can view all of our offers here if you'd like to book an offer that includes breakfast or call the Reservations team to add breakfast to your reservation.

Do you have wifi internet access?

Yes, resort-wide wireless internet access is included in your daily hotel fee and is available throughout the hotel.

Do you have a fitness center? What equipment does it offer? What are its hours?

Yes, the fitness room is available exclusively to hotel and spa guests. Our fitness room features strength-training equipment, treadmills, elliptical cross trainers, a stationary bike and free weights. Located on the Spa Level, use of the facility is included in our daily hotel fee. Please note that children under the age of 16 are not allowed in the gym and that gym clothes and workout shoes are required. Please use your guestroom key to gain access to the fitness room.

Do you offer group fitness classes?

Yes, we offer group meditation and yoga sessions to our hotel guests. See the schedule and find out here.

Do you have a business center?

Yes, the business center is located in the reception lobby area and includes two computers with high-speed internet access, a color printer and laptop internet connection outlets

Do you have a spa?

Yes, the Palms AVEDA Spa is located in the lower lobby level of the hotel. To learn more about the services and to make an appointment online, visit the Spa's Website here.

Do you offer currency exchange?

Yes, our Front Desk can exchange foreign currency and traveler checks up to $100.00 per day, per room.

Do you have a gift shop?

Yes, our Tropical Treasures Gift Shop offers unique gifts and beachwear, specialty coffees, baked goods, light snacks and fresh juices. Hours of Operation: Open daily 6:30am-9:00pm.

Do you offer laundry or dry-cleaning services?

Yes, laundry bags and tickets are located in your guestroom closet. Laundry must be turned in to Housekeeping before 9:00 AM for same day service (same day service is returned after 7:00 PM).

Do you have an ATM on property?

Yes, the ATM is located on the lower level.

Guestrooms

Are there irons in the room?

All rooms are equipped with an iron and an ironing board for your convenience. One-hour express ironing service for up to two items of clothing (linen, cotton, cotton blend fabric only) is available.

Is there a Mini Bar in the room?

Yes, for your convenience a Mini Bar is available in the guestrooms and are stocked with liquor, beer, wine, and snacks. Items removed will be charged as per the pricelist.

Is there a safe in the room?

Yes, a safe is provided for the protection of your personal belongings. Please leave the safe door open upon departure.

Are there refrigerators in the room?

No, refrigerators may be requested in advance and based on availability.

Are there coffee makers in the room?

A coffee maker has been provided for your convenience. Coffee capsules are provided by Julius Meinl Coffee and are complimentary.

Are there hair dryers in the room?

Hair dryers are provided for your convenience in every room and can be found in the bathroom or closet.

Do you offer in-room entertainment streaming?

Yes, our TV's are powered by Sonifi services, offering Live TV, Google Chromecast Streaming including Netflix and other popular streaming apps, on-demand movies, music options and more.

Does The Palms Hotel accept special bedding requests?

Rollaway beds are not available. Baby cribs are available free of charge.

Do your guestrooms have balconies?

Our City View Junior Suite features a private balcony overlooking the city of Miami Beach. The Oceanfront 1 Bedroom Suites boasts an expansive balcony overlooking Miami Beach, the Atlantic Ocean, and our spectacular pool and gardens. Visit our Rooms & Suites page for more information.

Do you have connecting rooms?

Yes, we offer a limited number of adjoining connecting rooms. In order to inquire about the availability of these rooms, we recommend calling our Reservations team.

Accessibility

Is your property ADA Accessible?

Yes, all public areas are wheelchair accessible. Should you require an ADA compliant room, reservations are best made beforehand. ADA equipment is also available for use to learn more visit our ADA Accessibility page.

Do you have ADA Accessible Guestrooms?

The hotel has nine handicap accessible rooms. These rooms feature single level flooring in the bathroom and shower, shower grab bars, adjustable height hand-held shower wands, lowered bathroom vanities, closed-caption televisions, bathroom grab bars, adjusted shelving and hanging rods in the closets, lowered dead-bolts, lowered bed heights, and lowered guest room peep-holes. There are telephones and doorbells for the hearing impaired. ADA Amenity Kits are available upon request. These rooms may be booked online or by calling our Reservations Department at +1 (305)-908-5479 or 1-800-550-0505.

What is included in your ADA Amenity Kits?

ADA Amenity Kits are equipped with alarm clocks for the hearing impaired, telephone amplifiers, mobile doorbells, and lamp blinkers. Beach wheelchairs are available upon request. Pool lifts and adjustable pool loungers. Any ADA equipment is available for loan via third party Family Rental services, arrangements can be made in advance of your arrival date.

Transportation/Directions

DO YOU PROVIDE AIRPORT PICK-UP/DROP-OFF? DO YOU HAVE AN AIRPORT SHUTTLE?

Unfortunately, at this time, The Palms does not provide airport pick-up or drop-off service. Our concierge can help to make private arrangements with our preferred limousine service. You can contact the concierge team at concierge@thepalmshotel.com.

Can I walk to places nearby?

Yes, The Palms Hotel & Spa is located in the Mid-Beach area of Miami Beach, right on the Miami Beach Boardwalk, guests are within a short walk, bike ride, or drive from popular attractions and restaurants. View our Things To Do page to learn more.

Do you have EV chargers or electric car charging on-site?

Yes, EV and Hybrid vehicles receive 20% off valet parking fees. EV charging for guests is available for $0.50/kilowatt.

Do you have bike rentals?

No, The Palms Hotel & Spa does not offer bike rentals. However, there are public Citibike Stations located near the property.

Miami International Airport is approximately 12 miles or 19 kilometers from The Palms Hotel & Spa. Fort Lauderdale International Airport is approximately 27 miles or 43 kilometers away.

Do you have parking? How much is parking?

Yes, overnight valet parking at the hotel is available for your convenience for $45 per night plus tax. For local visitors of Essensia Restaurant & Bar or The Palms AVEDA Spa, daytime valet parking is available for $19 plus tax with validation. For events at the hotel the daily valet parking rate is $29. Nearby street parking available for an hourly fee.

Do you offer day passes for your pool & beach?

No, the pool & beach facilities are exclusively for hotel guests or guests of AVEDA Spa receiving a facial or massage treatment of 50 minutes or more.

Can Pool & Beach lounge chairs be reserved in advance?

Pool & beach loungers are first come, first served and are subject to availability. Personal items may be removed if loungers are not occupied.

Does The Palms Hotel & Spa allow pets?

Unfortunately, The Palms Hotel & Spa does not accommodate pets. Guests may be accompanied by a service animal. We ask guests to let us know if you intend to bring your service animal with you in advance of your arrival.

Spa

What is the parking policy for guests of AVEDA Spa?

Guests of The Palms Spa receive discounted parking of $19+ tax with their treatment. Please ask the spa front desk to validate your parking prior to departure.

What is the group cancellation policy?

Any service(s) not cancelled at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled appointment time and any no-shows will be charged the full service price to the credit card used to secure appointments.

Does The Palms AVEDA Spa allow for private groups or parties?

We offer the ideal setting for groups of 5 or more for a variety of occasions include: corporate outings, birthday parties, bachelorette parties, baby showers, couples’ parties, reunions and more. Enjoy a combination of spa services, quality time with your friends, family or colleagues, and optional food & drink. A credit card number to secure all appointments booked are required to schedule a group event.

Are gift cards available?

Give the gift of nature with a spa treatment or package from The Palms AVEDA Spa, available for purchase at the spa front desk. You can also purchase a Gift Card online by clicking here. The perfect way to say thank you to friends and loved ones.

What is your cancellation policy?

If your plans should change and you are unable to keep your appointment, please let us know at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled appointment so we may reschedule at a more convenient time. Services not canceled within the cancellation period will be charged 100%. Group reservations require a one-week advanced cancellation. Packages require a 24-hour cancellation. Cancellations made after these time frames will be charged the full amount plus service charge.

What about payment for spa services?

A credit card number is required at the time reservations are made. All major credit cards are accepted. You may also charge spa services to your hotel bill or use a gift certificate.

Is there an age requirement?

Guests must be 16 years of age or older to enjoy spa services and spa facilities. Nail services are available to guests 12 years and older when accompanied by a parent or guardian.

How should I prepare for my treatment?

We recommend showering prior to using our relaxation facilities and before your treatment. Clean skin will better absorb the essential oils, scrubs and/or creams used in our massage treatments, facials, and body treatments. We also recommend using the steam room before your treatment. Warming up the muscles prior to your treatment increases circulation, encourages relaxation, and enhances treatment results.

Is gratuity included?

For your convenience, a 20% service charge will be added to all treatments. Additional gratuities are at your discretion.

What if I don't have a spa treatment, may I use the spa facilities?

Those hotel guests who do not have a spa treatment booked are welcome to enjoy the steam room, shower, and spa relaxation facilities for a $20 charge (subject to availability.)

What should I wear for my treatment?

Along with a swimsuit for co-ed areas, we recommend you wear comfortable casual clothes for pre- and post-treatment. During treatments, you may wear undergarments (disposable available), a swimsuit or disrobe completely. Your preference and modesty will be respected. We recommend wearing no jewelry during treatment. Lockers are available for your use. We are not responsible for any lost items.

How early should I arrive for my appointment?

Please arrive no more than 10 minutes prior to your appointment to allow time for you to check-in and change prior to your spa experience. This will also allow us to ensure you are the only one arriving and departing at a given time. If you arrive later than your appointment time, your session will still end as scheduled time as a courtesy to the next guest.

What if I'm late for my appointment?

Arriving late will simply limit the time of your treatment, thus lessening its effectiveness and your pleasure. Your treatment will end on time so the next guest will not be delayed. The full value of your treatment will be charged.

What facilities does your spa offer?

Visit our Facilities page to learn more about what amenities are currently available. All guests experiencing services of 50 minutes or more (excluding hair and nails) have access to our pool and beach and may enjoy the use of our fitness room. The spa front desk will issue pool towel cards to spa guests. Towel cards must be returned to the spa front desk or a fee of $39 will be charged.

May I order food and drinks in the relaxation area?

Yes, food & drink is available to order in the relaxation area based on availability. Please ask the Spa front desk team for menu details.

Do you offer couples massages?

Yes. Our massage services may be enjoyed in the company of a loved one in our Duet Suite for an additional $10/person. Our Duet Suite is subject to availability.

Do I need to wear a mask when I visit the spa?

Guests are not required to wear a face mask while in the spa/salon. All staff are required to wear masks and gloves unless it interferes with the service they are providing. Otherwise, frequent hand washing is required.

Can Spa guests have access to the Fitness Center, and Pool & Beach?

Yes, all guests experiencing massage or facial spa services of 50 minutes or more (excluding hair and nail services) at our Miami Beach AVEDA spa will have full use of our tropical grounds with private beach and swimming pool, steam room, relaxation area, and fitness room.

Do you offer Bridal Hair & Makeup Services?

Can we have our ceremony on the beach?

Yes! The beach is public property and a proper permit must be secured through the City of Miami Beach, which your event specialist can apply on your behalf. Your Event Specialist can assist with the rental of white folding chairs on the beach for your ceremony and a small round table for your officiant. You are responsible for any additional decor. No electrical equipment is allowed per the City of Miami Beach.

What partnerships does The Palms Hotel & Spa have to support sustainability?

We partner with organizations such as Surfrider Foundation, Save The Manatees, The Coral Restoration Foundation, The Everglades Foundation, and Dream in Green to support environmental initiatives and raise awareness.

How does the hotel manage waste reduction and recycling?

Waste is tracked monthly, and initiatives to reduce waste include using reusable items, recycling bins throughout the hotel, recycling special items like batteries and electronic waste, and offering bulk refillable bathroom amenities.

What are some future sustainability initiatives planned by The Palms Hotel & Spa?

Future plans include replacing all lighting with LEDs, improving tracking systems for energy and water consumption, exploring composting options, and working with more local farms to reduce food miles.

How does the hotel reduce plastic usage?

We operate without single-use plastics by using aluminum water bottles, cardboard, bagasse, wood, and other eco-friendly materials for disposables. We have eliminated plastic straws, single-use toiletries, and plastic key cards, and we recycle plastic bags and film separately.
